" The above quote is by Edison, but Disney Feature Story Supervisor Paul Briggs is dropping some major knowledge over at his blog (in addition to great drawings) about making it in the entertainment industry! Check out the full post on his experience here. The part I particularly identified with: “The true answer to your question, sadly, is I’ve never been happy or satisfied with my work. I’ve always been confident but never satisfied. I’m passionate and love it and have a strong desire to improve and grow everyday. I’m an ARTIST which means I’m an emotional beast.” This really hits home for me. The high of a job well done is always much more brief than the overall feeling of inadequacy… but the really successful artists that I have known have figured out how the channel that feeling of inadequacy into the drive to do better. Art is struggle, and it should always be a struggle… otherwise you’re not learning. So draw everyday! Fight the good fight! Just keep swimming!  (via samsketch)
