Small moment in the story of Wrens Make Prey. Felix and Jolanka.

For context, WMP is set in a meta grimm-style fairytale kingdom where the king is constantly reincarnated, and has to be found at every rebirth to be place him on his rightful throne lest the kingdom falls into ruin. Felix is the latest incarnation, born to a kingdom that already has a fake king ruling it—and committing quite a bit of genocide to make sure the true heir stays dead. Felix wants absolutely nothing to do with his bestowed destiny, but luckily, he’s a self-admitted coward, and he has a special talent for running away—especially with his skill to manipulate shadows. Unfortunately, he’s found and kidnapped by revolutionaries who don’t really give him a choice in using him in their planned coup, and so they drag him kicking and screaming into ~adventure~.

The comic deals with the possibility of Felix breaking the reincarnation cycle, but at the cost of his existence. Practically the one time Jolanka gets emotional. She rarely allows herself to want anything so when Felix worms his way into her heart and suddenly is about to disappear from her life, she doesn’t take it particularly well.

(Also, no, it is nowhere available to be read/viewed! It’s kind of a project Muun and I have been developing and revisiting for about five years now.)
